Pawsitive Puppy Dog Training was founded by head trainer Jan Gonzales. Jan's interest in dogs started in the early 1990's when she began training and showing American Eskimo Dogs. She was often asked dog training advice by family and friends and knew one day she wanted to be a professional dog trainer.

In 2019, Jan quit her job of 28 yrs. to pursue her long time dream as a dog trainer. She began as a dog walker for WAG gaining experience with many different breeds and temperaments.

In 2020, Jan began her formal dog trainer education at the Karen Pryor Dog Training Academy. Upon completion, she began taking clients. 

 

Since then, she received certification in dog & cat CPR and first aid, became an AKC Evaluator, and completed Beginning Behavior Consulting at The International Association of Behavior Consulting.

​

Currently, besides being a dog trainer, Jan is a pet sitter for Wagz 'n Whiskerz Pet Sitting. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the clarinet, animal & nature photography, watching the backyard birds, and crafts.

​

She is the proud owner of 2 Boston Terriers, both are Canine Good Citizens and one is a Therapy Dog. She also shares her home with a 22 yr. old cat.
